Germans are not the great civilization they used to be.. -
Old German guy that recreates Nazi bombs in his basement.....LOSER!
-
The weapons aren't so secret anymore
-
No ads yeah woo
-
these fritz x's had no radio control..nor propulsion system.. which would have had major ramifications as far as speed and penetrating power...all we saw here was some plywood get smashed.
-
Quality lost from quandity (Sherman tanks vs Tiger / East Fron millions "barefoot soldiers ) etc etc

As for the Maus & Ratte, the King Tiger & Jagdtiger answered that question. No, they weren't an effective weapon system. Too big to move, couldn't be easily transported by rail, you could build 5 Hetzers or StuGs for the same price (maybe 150-300 for a Ratte!), too big for bridges, drank scarce fuel like a dedicated drunk. No good.
-
what was a foo-fighter then? what kind of Nazi weapons was that...
-
COME ON !! THIS IS THE FIRST GUIDED BOMB ! America lifted half of the NAZI criminal Elite and killed the rest because they were no use ,or , would of been detrimental to their uses ??

Made of plywood, no warhead, wrong plane, not on a ship. It's like testing a Ron Jeremy dick made of Jello attached to Webster on a yoga mat.

Want to test the ballistic properties of the Fritz-X -> balance the weapon according to pilot preference rather than design documents or at least estimations based on other German weapons of the time. * facepalm *

There was nothing in this mockumentary about the planned U-Boat towed Ballistic Missile system advertised in the title. That project, while enticing to Deutschland's fearless leader, was doomed from the start, as the A4 missile needed constant tinkering and adjustment to keep it operational, not to mention the fact that it wasn't fueled until right before launch. There was no way to do any of that when it was inside a sealed capsule, towed behind the launching U-Boat.
It was never a serious project; just a design study, like the Ratte.
"The Rocket U-boat was an abandoned military project to create the first ballistic missile submarine. It was conceived of by Nazi Germany during the Second World War. Plans for the rocket U-boat involved an attack on New York City with newly invented V-2 rockets." "The Henschel Hs 117 Schmetterling (German for Butterfly) was a TV guided German surface-to-air missile project developed during World War II. There was also an air-to-air version. The operator used a telescopic sight and a joystick to guide the missile by radio control." "The Henschel Hs 293 was a World War II German anti-ship guided missile: a radio-controlled glide bomb with a rocket engine slung underneath it." "Rheintochter was a German surface-to-air missile developed during World War II. Its name comes from the mythical Rheintöchter (Rhinemaidens) of Richard Wagner's opera series Der Ring des Nibelungen." "The Ruhrstahl X-4 was a wire guided air-to-air missile designed by Germany during World War II. The X-4 did not see operational service and thus was not proven in combat. The X-4 was the basis for the development of experimental, ground-launched anti-tank missiles that became the basis for considerable post-war work around the world, including the Malkara missile."
