I love the intro, I was a little afraid at first, then the plastic gun came out "and I smoked them" hahaha!

Your vlog channel does not show up for me.

The wire is cutting into the wood, which is why it gets looser.
-
Sooo Smart!!! Thanks for Sharing!!!
-
PLEASE, PLEASE, use hardwood for your frame. That softwood you used will allow the wire to actually dig/force its way into the wood each time you tighten the wire. That will result in having to tighten the wires again.

Great job. I love it!

Hi, I made this soap cutter and it is great, but like yours, my wires kept getting loose. I want to order the cheese wire that you listed, did it work better for you?
-
Piano wire will be an excellent choice. Ask a piano tuner or piano rebuilder.

thank you so much for showing this video I made two with your instructions and they came out beautiful!!!

Hi Jan - just wanted to drop you a line to say well done on your video. There's a lot of advice out there on how to build a soap cutter, but yours is far the most useful and HONEST. I'm a scientist by training, and I value the ability to be critical of your own work. Apart from your excellent design, you have edited the video to tell people what worked/didn't work in "real time". Giving such valuable IP for free is what makes the interwebs so useful for everyone. You've inspired me to do the same...now I just need to come up with an idea that someone else might find useful. :)

Thank you very much for sharing your idea, its so creative easy and effective. I also cant afford an expensive cutter. Thank you again.

have you got any tips on how to make a heart from anything to use as a soap mould.. i tried a toilet roll but it failed... wondering if you had a idea without spending money on a mould. i also tried a aluminum tealight holder n nope didnt work. wantingvit for candles and melts :)
any ideas would be helpful -
Great video...

Could you give me the recipe for soap? I'm grateful.
-
Thanks for sharing! If you don't like the wire guides you could always cut them on the other side and move your squares to the cut side.
-
Thanks for sharing the details of your cutter! I wonder if zigzagging a single wire for multiple slots would work. Then only have to secure the ends of 1-3 wires instead of 10. Have you ever tried that? I might. :-) Thanks again.

I wish I saw this video before I purchased my $200 loaf cutter from Bud.

Thank you for your post. From experience, guitar strings are also excellent for soap cutting. The steel strings from Home Depot or lowes are not strong enough!!! Excellent job, Jan!!!! God bless the works of your hands!!!!

Thanks for sharing. I wish I was handy enough to do this, I desperately need a soap cutter but like you, I'm not willing to pay $200 right now. So I'm just using a cheese cutter.
