Hello Great Video ! Where do you live ?

Hello, is it possible to download the drawings of the catamaran?

Thanks for the response. I admire ANYONE who can accomplish such a feat. I'm thinking about a DIY cat or trimaran but I think I'll get my feet wet with a 4-6 meter size. I suspect smaller projects have smaller and less expensive mistakes. I thank you for posting these videos. A GREAT resource for any even considering such an undertaking. Thanks for sharing!

Hi John, costs vary considerably depending on your inclusions and your own 'wishlist' of goodies. Some have been built from the $80K, others to $140K (and I suspect there are a few that are more). Our weight came in just under 5 tonne. This too depends on your fuel, water and all the extra bits you add on top of the deign specifications. Hope this helps and appreciate you looking at our videos.

How much did it cost (best guesstimate?) and what does it weigh?

Hi Santakart, it started as a hobby and took 4 1/2 years. I had sailed previous on smaller yachts, in fact built a smaller yacht from wood. There is no ballast in the keels. I am not sure of any catamaran of this size that does have ballast. The plans gave some suggestions, but we ended up sourcing most of our supplies over the internet. We have more and better movies at youtube.com/diycatamaran. More DIY information also on the diycatamaran website. Thanks for looking

I have watch ed all of your vids, this was quite an undertaking. First question why? second it appears that it was about a 3 year project, and I am sure tht you learned a lot did you sail before? do you have a back ground using wood? as you did the hulls did you have to use ballast in the keel? I have seen the plans that are available, did they give you suggestions where to fine materials and the other componets for your build? Thank You for your vids and trips
