you can ad some pvc pipes to the remaining sharp edges and you're pretty much done, cool boat by the way

cool looking boat. genius

I don't want to be mean or anything, but it looks like you made it yourself out of oil barrels.

Nice boat. If you were to make a wooden floor out of pallet wood and anchor it to the top wooden parts with vertical supports and wedge some horizontal supports between the vertical supports and the barrel wall then you can cut out the bottom parts of the barrels which are inside the boat into packman shapes so they don't cause accidents and restrict movement inside the boat but retain most of it's structural integrity. Also that would enable you to store stuff at a dry place even if the boat takes in some water and if boards have a bit of empty space between them you can still easily drain the water from it or let the sun do it for you. Or just make the floor modular so you can take it out when the boat needs to dry or have work done on it.

If you are going to weld anything from a 50 gal bucket or otherwise, make sure the barrels did not contain any kind of solvent like acetone, thinner, or most petrochemicals. Even after washing out thoroughly, power washing, and drying, the steel can leach out absorbed fumes and explode. You cannot clean these barrels and you will be injured or killed. It happens every year. With that said, this is looks like one cool project.

What The Fuck? Are we living back in the 20's with the silent movie crap? put some voice to your video and give instructions. I was over here checking my damn ear thinking I went deaf. Had me scared shitless.

Terrific build, as for the edges of concern just cut some garden hose along one side and slide this over the edges. I think if I made this boat I would send it away to the galvanizer to get it all galvanized. love it , well done.

Excellent project....Its not pretty BUT, it IS pretty functional ...attach a small outboard and Bob's your monkey's uncle !
3m 45sLength
Front part and rear part was welded with MIG, middle part with stick welding. Boat is not heavy, two men can carry it.
