What kind of gph or mpg can be had boating with this set up? Is this the answer to fuel efficient long distance boating? Nice work on the swap.

v 8 be to heavy . 6 cylinder bmw or a bt 4 Cummins would be good for 300 hp or you can put a twin turbo on the 1.9 . they are good for 180 hp before internal mods required

Taking my jet boat out on the lake for its 2nd test drive ever. It used to have a chevy v8 engine and now it has a 1.9L diesel out of a 2001 volkswagen jetta. it has a mechanical injector pump and a wastegated turbo so I didnt need to use the ecm. Still needs engine tuning for more power but im happy with the progress.
