Dennis nailed the design. She is a big step up . Fast and low carbon burning. Thrifty ocean crossing vessel.. I believe that the LRC 58 is a game changing design. Hope that some day in the future, we could figure out a way to build hulls in Alaska of this or a similar design. I understand that you have the rights to this design.
Looking for a tuff vessel for Cook Inlet. Could be a school project for all of the schools in Alaska to take part in.
I really like the numbers and size of the LRC 58. A small crane might sling cargo with more control. What's the working load with your cargo or working booms. I like all types of rigging. Storm sail or steady sail might be handy. We have a 20 foot tide, we will be going on the hard often. Big river systems to explore poring into the very head waters of the Gulf of Alaska. Nasty waters at times.
I like your video as well. Talented team. You guys cranked hull #2 out pretty fast. Just wanted to tell you guys that I believe in technology transfer. Allot of Alaskans are hard headed independent individualist. I have a open square Scandinavian head. I'm open to learning and like teaching our youth new skills. I love boat building. I personal don't have the skills or the tools to crank out hull # 3 as of yet. We do have very gifted builders of all types here, not up to speed with vessel like the LRC as of yet.
I hope to pitch the idea of building a similar vessel, as a, " Alaska School Project", to our new, "Governor Walker", this Friday coming. The Governor and his family are coming to Homer for our 40th Annual Conference on Alaskan Parks and Recreation.
We desperately need low impact, heavy weather vessels to develop our vast coastal recreation options. The LRC 58 fits the bill perfectly.
Kind regards,
Carl Nostrand
