At Yummy Jubbly, we like desserts. There's no doubt about that. But with all that sugar and fat, it's hard not to feel guilty afterwards. * CHECK OUT our website: http://www.yummyjubbly.com/ * FOLLOW US on Instagram: https://instagram.com/yummyjubbly/ * LIKE our Facebook: http://facebook.com/yummyjubbly *Follow us from Twitter: http://twitter.com/yummyjubbly Fear not! As we've been able to find a cake shop, that has half the amount of sugar and fat content compared to other places. That's what the staff told us anyway and there's no reason to not believe her! Where is this place I hear you ask? It's the awesome Cutter & Squidge, located smack bang in the middle of London's Soho. You can eat their cakes guilt free, because they're created by two food-loving sisters - Annabel and Emily Lui - who admit to being a bit health conscious. They like to use just the right amount of sugar and fat to make their cakes delicious! All the ingredients used are also natural and where possible from British growers or producers. So you can feel good, knowing that you're eating something created locally. Having walked past this place so many times before, we couldn't wait to get inside and try out some of their yummy goodies. Especially now that they've got a Hello Kitty theme going on! Once you've made yourself past the Hello Kitty tree outside the store (and taken enough selfies with her too), you'll be greeted by the most enticing display of cakes ever. So enticing that you'll want to eat them all. Every. Single. One. Mama's Homemade Apple Pie Biskie (Hello Kitty) - this was exactly like eating an apple pie! The warm tones of cinnamon mixed with the buttercream was yummy. But what really put a smile on our faces was the surprise of apple pie filling hidden inside the swirl of buttercream. So good! This Biskie is part of the Hello Kitty range. Sadly though, the cute Hello Kitty shortbread on top of the Biskie was a bit of a let down. It was really dry and literally glued up our mouths. Matcha Heaven - with the vibrant ripple of green within the whipped buttercream, we really were expecting to taste the matcha green tea. Unfortunately we could hardly taste it, so it was more non-existent than heaven sadly. That said, the raspberry taste was really nice. Anything matcha flavoured is hard to make, so we'll still give Cutter & Squidge brownie points for attempting! Nutella Choc Chip Doughnut - it was recommended we tried this Biskie as it's one of Cutter & Squidge's current best sellers! But that's probably expected when people see Nutella. This little Biskie was exactly like eating a Nutella flavoured chocolate brownie. The doughnut shape was really just to make it look extra special. The sprinkling of nuts and chocolate on top would've been better if there was more! Pistachio Roseberry - not only was this the best looking Biskie of the bunch, it was also the tastiest! The beautifully created flower using the melt-in-your-mouth meringue pieces was so clever and tasted heavenly. Once you bite into it, you go through a journey of tasting the flavours of the berry, the buttercream and the pistachio. The added pistachio pieces on the edge of the Biskie intensifies the taste and adds a crunchy texture to an otherwise soft creamy Biskie. Also, in true Cutter & Squidge style, there was a hidden surprise of the berry jam inside the buttercream swirl. Definitely a must try! It was worth heading down to Cutter & Squidge to try out their Biskies. It's such a clever little thing and as you can tell, there's so many variations you can have. So you'll be spoilt for choice each time you go. They have a wide range of larger cakes too, all of which are beautifully decorated. So we're giving Cutter & Squidge a total of four yums on this occasion - which no doubt won't be the last! The Hello Kitty range at Cutter & Squidge includes a Hello Kitty Afternoon Tea experience which will run all through the summer. It is a bit pricey though at £40 per person, even kids are charged £20.
