Working at sea can be a tough way to make a living and for commercial fishing, long hours, fluctuating prices and unpredictable weather are just a fact of life. But, for those who don't mind a bit of hard work and have a love of fresh seafood, it can be greatly rewarding. Hervey Bay local fishermen like Gordon Lewthwaite have been trawling the coastline for the past 45 years for the freshest and best local produce. For a taste of what Hervey Bay has to offer, Andrew Mirosch will be cooking up a storm at the ever-popular Tastes of the Bay long lunch during the Hervey Bay Seafood Festival. It all happens at the Urangan Boat Harbour on Sunday 12th August from 10am to 4pm. The nearby Akama, Ramada and Boat Harbour resorts all have special packages for the festival weekend.
