Fort Lauderdale is the "Venice of the USA" with over 300 miles of canals. We motored inland along canals that got narrower and narrower, with boats tied up to waterfront houses. I was amazed me by the number of catamarans we saw. Certainly numbering in the hundreds, pretty much every canal had at least one. The vast majority were over 40ft and an even bigger majority were French or S African built.
