Just because most people don't wear gear when riding cruiser doesn't mean you have to.

And I know a lot of people have something to say about leader bikes. But I'm a 235 pound guy. I need something that's gonna pull my wait. Just thought I'd mention that. #Leaderbikesruleforbigboys

My first bike was a 1982 Honda CB 750. It was an awesome first bike to learn how to ride on. With that being said, I'm selling it tomorrow and when tax time rolls around I'll be getting a R1. I can't wait. It's 4 months away, and riding season is almost over, at least in northern North Carolina it is. I loved learning how to ride on my cb750 but now I'm ready for something I can tear the roads up with. My cb750 could barely do 75mph and it got kind of boring. It also wasn't fun going riding with my buddies and them constantly having to wait for me to catch up. Any ways.... Just thought I would share that. Oh... Also, the main reason I want an R1 is because I fell in love with the way they look. They are so freakishly awesome. #👊fistbumpHolla

I had a little 125cc x22 super pocket bike and it went fast! I dropped the bike because the steering felt weird and I was scared idk if my tire was just bald because it happened when I was going around a turn and now I'm older and want a sport bike but I feel cruisers are safe. What do I do?!!

I'm so freaking torn right now... I can either get a Triumph Scrambler and customize it, or I can get a ZX10R (a friend says it gets you da girlies). I love the scrambler and it would work perfect if I needed to go hunting/camping because they were pretty nicely off road, but the ZX10R is so cool. I will probably end up getting both in the long run but can't get both now... Any advice?

Get an adventure bike like the GSA 1190.

Gabe Media - CBR600RR is a full on racing bike. The Harley Iron is a good all around bike. Either will be great, just depends on your riding style and where you plan on going, and who you like riding with.

Torn between a Harley iron 883 and a CBR600rr ):

I already have a motorcycle. An AJS EOS 125. Which is a cruiser. When I pass my full license. I think I would alternate between a sports bike and a cruiser. Like buy two bikes and just go on whichever takes my fancy. I already know what bike I'm getting as a bigger cruiser. A Victory High Ball or Gunner. Thing's sexy as hell :P

Hey, just wondering, what can you get the most bang for the buck from when it comes to 125cc motorcycles (between the different types). In Sweden where I live, by the time you're 16 you can get a 125cc motorcycle that doesn't exceed 11kW when it comes to power usage. Thanks in beforehand!

Thanks from a Shreveport/Bossier City motorcyclist. Enjoyed your informative clip.

Thanks great help!

Great review and we'll put brother. The one thing I can say about people ride cruises or at least the ones that I have met they never really disrespect a sport bike rider. The guys that I have met that are seasoned riders say the same thing that you just said. If you're a sports speed junkie get a sportbike. And if your a laid back not aggressive rider get you a cruiser. But for the most part they are excited for you and want you to enjoy the experience of riding a motorcycle.

You forgot to mention that cruisers can have windshields as its not that hard to put them on instead of full faced helmets. How the hell would you be able to smoke while riding with a full faced helmet on? Plus even if you didn't have one, putting a bandana on over makes you feel like you're robbing a bank, or in case you really want to. All valid arguments...

Right now I'm trying to decide between the FZ-07, V-Star 650, and the Yamaha Bolt. I have absolutely no idea which one to choose! hahaha. I've sat on the FZ and V-Star but the dealership i go to doesn't have the Bolt. I kinda considered the Bolt as it's a bit of a compromise between the FZ and the V-Star since it has the cruiser ride but the pep of a sportier bike than a conventional cruiser. This will also be my first bike with no prior riding experience besides the MSF course.
I have a car that I will also be able to drive while I have this bike. But I would love to have a bike that I could take trips on and commute on with relative ease. I will wear full gear no matter what style of bike I get, so that's not a factor for me. Can you give me any advice?
edit: I also plan on buying from a dealership. I know I could find a good deal on Craigslist, but as this is my first bike, I do not have the necessary knowledge to spot problems with a used bike. I just want to play it safe with my first bike and get one from a dealership. Especially since there is a dealership near my house that has some real cool and helpful staff that I trust to not swindle me out of money by selling me a crap bike.

*Cruiser bike riders tend to be older and therefore less prone to acts of exhibition of acceleration etc that tend to categorize 'crazy sport bike riders' who tend to be younger and more daring sometimes. A suggested topic that I personally also had to address and I think most people have to consider when first purchasing a new bike. These are my opinions. Gather information. Go to a dealership and sit on a bunch of motorcycles. Take the motorcycle safety course and off ya go. Congratulations on the decision to get a motorcycle.
