Hey TheRcSaylors! I recently bought this quad off of amazon. After unboxing and a brief flight, the front, right prop quit turning after a minor crash landing into some grass. I returned it and got my money back. Was this just a fluke with my specific drone, or are all models very fragile as mine was? Should I get another one of these, or seek out a different quadcopter? Please take a minute to reply :)

What is the difference of 3D drones and drones?

1:15 Time to mix up some magic hobby glue that will not only glue the pads on "for a very long time"... but a thin solution will penetrate the foam pads creating a composite in gluing the pad to itself adding an immeasurable amount of weight but enough glue strength to survive all the impact forces the small weight of the quad will generate as long as you don't disturb the glue and compress the foam while drying. Shoe Goo and Toluene solvent in different viscosity ratios of 10%, 25%, 50%, 70% creates one of the best glues I've ever used. It can be used as a contact cement giving an instant bond, or be used wet. But unlike epoxy it's maximum strength curing time can take weeks or more depending on thickness and it gets harder (stronger) while curing.
It also shrinks in size as the solvent evaporates and applied thick to fill up a hole in EPP foam will dry up to become a thick walled rubber cavity creating a hard balloon which can be done deliberately to the nose of a flying wing where the outer surface has been treated and joins the inner "balloon" through the tip (that always breaks off) drilled out 4-5mm in the middle reaching the hole filled with Shoe Goo and shaped to a nice rounded tip. This replaces the weak foam tip with Shoe Goo that thinks it's on the end of a boot kicking rocks out of the way and creates a flexible shock absorbing nose structure that's not going to rip apart, and unlike a ton of tape is light weight by putting the added weight where the strength is needed most. Kevlar string unwound and "fluffed up" (or even nylon string) can be used many ways with Shoe Goo and as a micro balloon filler adds even more strength.
Just be careful as the thinner the glue ratio the more it can/will melt plastic and plastic paint including the paint used on EPP foam models, but the solvent evaporates so fast it's just the surface affected and one reason it bonds so well to plastic. The solvent used also allows a Sharpie pen to add permanent color to the glue where as an example the soft white foam landing pads and surrounding bottom contact area on a JJ1000 can be colored red and blue and will stay clean looking like new rather than get all chewed up leading to a crack. And unlike a Sharpie the color is really permanent mixed in with the Shoe Goo. A second thin clear coat to wrap a "shoe" around the feet now colored on the bottom adding about 1/10 gram max can be applied by carefully and quickly setting the quad in a flat container with a few mm of 50% mixture and removing it to allow it to drip evenly to the last drop and then turning it over and rotating it to control glue thickness as the glue sets up and stops flowing to stop chipping on pavement and dampen impacts. A tenth of a gram might not seem like much but it makes a huge difference as the SGoo is not a hard brittle plastic and will not chip holding the surface together.
It's art using Shoo Goo for light weight RC aircraft and Shoe Goo and Toluene solvent can be used on everything from electronics in place of heat shrink creating better protected wire connections from vibrations as needed in motor winding exit wires... to covering EPP foam wing leading edges and foam to ground contact areas... and it makes excellent almost weightless Kevlar hinges that can be artistic while having function... endless uses but using it to glue on rubber pads (applied to sticky side where it melts in with the sticky adhesive) is a good start. Just be sure to use Shoe Goo and not Amazing Goop as Goop has a filler that ruins it's elasticity (and costs twice as much). A shoe is one of the hardest things to glue and get to hold walking on rocks for miles through different temperatures and that's what Shoo Goo does better than any other glue.
And Shoe Goo doesn't know the difference between a shoe and an RC model so when it comes to knowing what to put on a knows Show Goo knows best;-) -

Nate & Abby,
I enjoyed your review, followed the link and purchased this little quad. It arrived yesterday and I was surprised by its stability right out of the box. In small areas (my kitchen) I was fliping, flying inverted and buzzing the cats. Outside, I was able to have much more space and fun flying this little drone. Thanks for your review, I would have never have taken a stab at it. Thanks.
