No room for manouver if the engine failed, I would want a 2 engine boat if I wanted to go out on a day like that.

Commercial fishermen go out unless it is totally impossible. You don't learn how to do this on your first try. It takes lots of practice, a reliable engine with enough power to over come the current.

hab ein kleines Ruder boot mit 5 ps , und bringt eine Menge Spaß durch die Wellen mit Vollgas aber man darf niemals bei solchen Wellen den Motor ausschalten und das boot nicht seitlich oder hinten drehen den wird man wahrscheinlich kentern , natürlich ist es bei Frachter , Kreuzfahrt Schiffe anders!
ich fahre aber auch in einer kleinen bucht und man sollte sich nicht über schätzen und immer wissen was mein boot kann . ☺ -
