55 years ago my dad cut the top of and old wood boat he bought after sailing for a year decided to do it! Took him 2 years and almost a divorce to rebuild and re rig from gaff to bermudian rig.
Unfortunately after some years of using it and a growing family we had to get something bigger!
Hope this is you last modification? Did you increase the rig or was what you had powerful enough.
