I wonder if you stopped the motor as it was warping if it would stay warped
-
whos watching in 2017

What would've happened if you stopped the motor while the disc was warped?

rip cd face

At the critical spin rate, the outer rim of a full-size CD travels at Mach 0.42.

How specif is your camera

How much did that camera cost? That thing is fricken brilliant!
-
what if u did more that 1 at a time????

If you look at the video at the end you can actually see that it spins faster the closer to the center it is. That's why it's warping

A tiny thought was glittering somewhere in my mind what is happening to the laws of physics here? May be we could see some meta glimpse of the nature of light reflecting through the cd to the camera. I thought the cd broke at the speed of 28,000 rps so that meant it achieved the speed of 10.640 kmps which is little over than the speed of satellites and which is roughly 28,000 times less than the speed of light. So, if we could test it on some other material and achieve the rps of 28,000*1000 times we can reach 10640 kmps which is just 28 times less than the speed of light. I guess whatever divine sight we could witness at the speed of light we could at least get 1/28th of it :-) Or afterwards could increase the rps to better get the effect.
