at 0:33 you can see, Main sail is 1 panel reefed, Jib is not the biggest
-
This cat looks very bow heavy to me. Would not feel confident to take it in a big swell.
-
@atlanticus Surely a mono hull wouldn't have capsized in that wind and swell yet.
-
@atlanticus There was only 20kts of wind. You're crazy if you think that would capsize an ocean-going monohull.
-
Quel est le drapeau derière? svp
-
@atlanticus Monohulls dont capsize as the leverage of the keel increases with angle of heel until you reach an angle past 90 degrees. then they roll right over and come up other side.

risk take?? come on , its all calculated, life is a risk mate, silly comment.

beautiful and inspiring sailing..!

Cats are the bomb!

Flying a hull on a cat that size is INSANE!! Of course, he does have a chase boat, so I guess they could help un-turtle it. Fantastic sailing! Wish I were there right now. :-)

Québécois?

please never say anything about sailing again. the VO70's go chargin in 50 knots+ i've sailed monos in 30-45 knots before. unreefed. yeah it was scared heeling over, but not close to capsizing.
-
how is it for accomodation comforts inside?
-
That is not what i would call hobby horsing ,until you have sailed a wharram cat then i suggest your keep shtum , nice sail very nice
-
That cat is no hobby horsing , try sailing a wharram catamaran then you will know what it meanst to hh . Nice sailing there
-
Hobby horsing is usually refered to bow to stern rocking... this boat isnt hobby horsing its managing a strong wind.
-
Is this thing on hydrofoils? The hulls seem really high out of the water.
