Impi is a catamaran sailing around the world having left South Africa some years ago. Now having crossed the Pacific Ocean it is time to haul Impi oput at Norsand Boat Yard and Marina in Whangarei right here in New Zealand. Here we get busy with upgrading items to the boat including the replacement of the Yanmar SD50 sail drives to SD 60 saildrives (to follow in Part 2 of this series) We also return to South Africa for our sons wedding and to visit family and friends - let alone much needed business to be done. Ana's sister Kris arrives from Belgium to spend a few days with us and so we tour around the Cape Peninsula with her and lets not forget poor Leon who has lost his fingers and a toe in an unfortunate incident. This event has a remarkable effect on us as we struggle to cope with the incident more than he does - what a wonderful man! So folks - more of a story for family and friends and a little more of our background in this one - but we like to share and you are always welcome to join in :)
