always been an an admirer of Burt?? is there a connection at all from the Bacharach on the rhine
-
I don't know if you are still out there, but my mother bought a RCA color combo stereo, radio, tv, in 1964 and I don't think I've ever heard music sound so beautiful until now.

I had a Magnavox just like that one in the later 70's at school, lived in a loft in a high crime area. Do toit's size never had to worry about it being stolen. Even the imperfection of the sound by modern standards brings back great memories, Thanks!!!!!

This was actually recorded BEFORE Dionne Warwick's version according to most sites on covers vs. originals
-
I so concur Hal David wrote all the lyrics for the great early songs of a young Dionne.

@specialbeat The astute Eagrocks below has informed us that the British session group the Breakaways did the vocals. No clue yet on who the additional session players were.

Thanks for uploading this, who does this particular version of this track? Obviously written by the great Bertie B but so many people have covered it and wondered who done this one. Anyone????? Thanks

@JuliaGulia7102 Does the radio work? Does the tuner light up? If there is no power at all for anything there might be a bad or loose connection, or at worst, the power supply board components are bad. I would call around to used record stores in your area. Either they can do repairs there or refer you to someone that knows how to repair these units. Cheers.

@ajay999999 I made a few modifications. I've configured it so that instead of electricity it runs of of Fuller's ESB.
-
How come the record player still works?
-
The Britsh session group The Breakaways did the vocals.
-
What's the name of the vocal group who sing this version, please, anyone? :/

Didn't we all have a stereo like this? That was top of the line and you had a little money if you had a piece of furniture like this. Ah, the good ol' days will last forever in my heart and mind.
One vinyl record album: Burt Bacharach Plays His Hits. This definitely is my bag, baby. Played on the giant 1963 Magnavox Stereophonic Radio/Phono entertainment console. Here it is. Trains and Boats and Planes. Enjoy. Lyrics: Trains and boats and planes were passing by. They mean a trip to paris or rome To someone else but not for me. The trains and boats and planes Took you away, away from me. We were so in love, and high above We had a star to wish upon. wish When dreams came true, but not for me The trains and boats and planes Took you away, away from me. You are from another part of the world, You had to go back a while and then You said you soon would return again. I'm waiting here like i promised to. I'm waiting here but where are you? Trains and boats and planes took you a way, But ev'ry time i see them i pray And if my prayers can cross the sea, The trains and the boats and planes Will bring you back, back home to me.
