There is a Tiki 21 for sale here in Hawaii. $9500. Unfortunately, I would have no place to put it. I already have a Hobie Tandem Island trimaran kayak.

Why is speed important? Shit 850 lbs Sterling. I could buy a larger used sailboat for that much.

Kill all the music - you do not need it. Your goal is to talk to people. Your voice is enough music. So annoying to try filtering out music laid on top of and over and attempting to drown out your voice.

Considering that sheets of ply can only be curved in simple curves as parts of cones and cylinders, this is quite a pleasant boat. In fact I made a few boats myself and most of the time, I try to get a curve out of a straight edge o f a ply sheet and I normally call these boat my straight line curved boat. Folding two ply sheets accordingly can make one a pleasant canoe or a kayak and this boat follows similar philosophies. I like its dynamics and once one does not overload it, it performs well enough considering its simplicity. Obviously the centre section is far from having the wetted surface maximising the volume but when it comes to wave motion at higher speeds it is excellent . My colleague who built one of these makes 15 knots on a 15 horse poser outboard motor. I sailed one myself but it was 23 feet if my memory is not failing, An excellent boat, a compromise boat, but as far as I am concerned I do like to be on boats which are not too modern and too luxurious as that is not my aim in boating, I am a traditional man and woods and ropes and no electronics or too many stainless steels do take away the warmt that the old woods and ropes created. Romance is a boat, can seldom be achieved with only fibreglass and stainless steels and automatic contraptions. This boat is just fine for they who like a little remnant of the atmosphere of what our ancestors wanted in boats, just boats and not palaces nor villas. Congratulations, such a boat does keep a family together.
