We (almost) built a catamaran in one day!! Out of pipes, plywood, planks and screws - but no glue. The bits that didn’t get done were quickly finished off the next morning and we could have done it in the day but we were tired and hungry by the end and there didn’t seem much point. Meitheal Group #1 has been getting together once a month for the past four years to help each other out. A workgroup. I used this anniversary event, which happened to be at our place, to help get this catamaran built. And it was a good thing too, because there was a lot to do. As you can see, the day was noisy and busy, but productive. We had planned to launch in the evening – but the weather really was awful all day and no one fancied it at all. Sandra had made a lovely dinner and we’d planned to cook it on the beach and toast a successful day. Ha! We ate it round the table in the kitchen instead and it was very good and we’ll have the bonfire another night. The launch has happened – video coming soon!! (It takes a long time to edit this type of video though. Nearly 3 hours of clips went into this one. It has taken nearly two days!) Huge thanks to Madeline, Mike, Seb, Linda, Lisa, and Martin. (Plus Morwena and Meven who didn’t even know us and worked so hard!) Brilliant people, as usual.
