is there any reasonyou dont eep the drawing open until you actualy reach the gulf with the boat ? more chances to recoup insurance and other cost with your project to riemurse what you spend
-
Hey Bud, I see you tipped the 5000 mark for subscribers!!!!
Cool! -
I put my $20 in but I don't think that is enough. I appreciate that you want to want to raise money by a lot of people donating a little but the demographics just are not lining up.
It's been my experience in marketing that 80% of your return is going to happen in the first two weeks, and you are only about 30% to your goal at this time, I'm in doubt of the remaining 70% will materialize. The way I see it there is two solutions,
1) get more viewers,
2) change your donation plans and let your existing supporters donate a little more.
I for one would pledge to $20 once a month for 4 or 5 months, it wouldn't hurt me and I wouldn't be surprised if many of the rest or your supporters would be willing to do the same.
On the other hand we could run a marketing campaign to get more viewers.
You have within your grasp more than enough financial resources to make this an over the top awesome project.
Maybe adjust your financial strategy to open up the available funding to make this happen. -
Ref: keeping the lottery going, I don't ind keeping it going until the donation reached the 200 or so as indicated in the initial Boat Project Video, especially since the boat was actually donated to the project.
My 2 Cents worth -
Wayne, I think you should continue the $20 donation during all repairs and upgrades to make sure you can cover the costs. I don't think anyone would have a problem with that. It all goes back into the labor as well. $20 is worth the price of admission to watch the adventure.
-
But you've got more memories than most people ever will.
-
I agree with Jim Taylor, keep the link live till a few days before the drawing, give people on the fence or with a really tight budget, time to make up their mind. Some might come around after they see the finished product.
-
i have been trying to do donate 50$ but have no clue where to send it Wayne i dont want you to get poped with fees.

Happy Resurrection Day to you also !

Hey Wayne,
Just sent my (twenty dollars via Paypal to enter the contest drawing for the $20 Sailboat)...Love the boat Wayne, it looks like it has a lot of great potential... Looking forward to watching the progress on her and your travels with her...This is my retirement dream to sail again and have a decent type and size sailboat to be able to do it in... Thank you for the update and let me know if you got my donation or not please....Thanks, Dana~ -
PS....I agree with the others....keep collecting while the adventure goes on. The boat will be very attractive
-

Best way to describe what you do is DIRT-BAGGING ! You do what you do for the fun you don't mind working as long as the commitment is not years off your life. You work to live not live to work. If I win is it transferable? IF I know a guy I want to give it to can I do that if he agrees to take possession?

I got a good honda NEW from Sams club under $600 Currently they are selling a Black Max? IDK what that is if it is a great deal but Sams usually does not go with junk. http://www.samsclub.com/sams/digital-inverter-2100w-inverter-gen/prod13850485.ip?pid=_CSE_Google_PLA_Generators_&_Accessories&source=ifpla&CAWELAID=730010300000426532&adid=22222222627000016123&veh=sem

why would you limit the amount of tickets sold, when you have nearly 5000 subscribers? and why such a short time period in which to purchase a ticket? people watching your adventure might decide later that they want to get in on it... extra money could be part of the winnings for costs to pick up boat if winner, also you could purchase momentos of trip to dress up the boat...and why only one ticket per person? 20.00 bucks is a ticket, only one ticket will win, so...you should at least let people buy at least 5tickets if they want... just sayin. you could also during the trip, buy cool momentos and have drawings once or twice a month (if extra money) for them as an extra bonus for participants..just an idea to make it more fun..I'm still thinking about it.. anyway, bye for now!

why would you bother to strip the dodger, thats a lot of work. You can build a new one faster and cheaper than working on the old one.
