Me too on the Lyman's, always liked them. There's a nice Cruisette in the boathouse near me. The Huckins is another matter. I always liked them too - until I visited the plant in Jacksonville, Florida to look at a used boat for sale. Big disappointment. Boat was junk. Then toured the plant to see boats being built. Terrible workmanship. I would have fired a couple of the guys that I saw, but that's how they are built. I expected to see fine woodwork, but instead what I saw was crude. Like I said, a really big disappointment.

My grandfather had a Huckins Sportsman 40. What a great boat. I had the chance to see her again after 25 years in 2003 in Newport, RI. In my opinion that is the best boat ever.

this brought me a lot of memories! my last "big boat" was a huckins 46 FY just like the one in your video, only blue but the same configuration. I really enjoyed that boat! I got it when I traded an 80' partyboat for this one. I kept it two years and my family had a lot of fun up and down the intracoastal, circa 1980 :). Dr. Ibanez San Francisco, CA 8/23/08
