Been there... done that... not fun!
-
@maxendenia F1 drivers crash a lot, same could be said of them? They crash cos they are pushing it to the edge and want to win, and sometimes go too far
-
@schoolace no, they need a powerboat to right them, once your over, your out
-

I think some of this skippers suck a lil bit, they make this regattas just for the spectacle but I thing, such an expensive boat should be used a bit more seriously... nice video!
-
hmm i guess hiking out doesnt do much here
-
fuck!!!!
-
what song is that?!?
-
@tincoffin Can you imagine the load on the main sheet on those boats ? Amazing to watch them stick the lee bow deep in the water, and come to a near crashing stop, then sheet out and 'recover' bow pops up and "OFF WEEEEEEE GO'!!!!!!! This is some risky fun in a 20 ' boat. In these 40s... watch out. Sometime bad things happen!

Thanks for the beautiful post, Yachtpals.BIG WOW! I"ve perfected crashing my 5.2 Nacra. Its only 8' abeam, but when its capsized and if your still on top, your eyeballs are about 14' from the water ! We were 'tripped/ pitchpoled' outside Nawiliwili in 02 running down wind, and for the first time in 30 years of crashing catamarans 'I was injured (broken vertebra) in a whiplash injury caused by being fastened to the boat ! (seemed like a good idea at the time! Many thanks!

@aggressiveman666 : Its odd - they dont appear to have a quick release for the mainsail so they seem to capsize in slow motion.
