Your each and every Lectures are awesome . But just a suggestion that in competitive exams we need to solve it much faster , as in problem 3 it is given that
upstream is thrice downstream.
So Downstream= 3(Upstream) .. Replacing the formula given by you
(u+v)=3(u-v) implies u+v = 3u-3v .
SO we have equation
2v=u (where v is rate of stream and u=18kmph as Given in Question) .
v=18/2 that is 9 kmph . :) . I hope You dont mind. It was a just a suggetion. -
ooo!! I think the last problem can be solved in much quicker way...and hope most of us will agree with me...
-
If you first calculate the speed of the current for 6 hrs.,which is just (32-14)=18,then find it for an hr.,which is (18/6)=3kmph & finally (3/2)=1.5kmph.I think this is faster approach,not sure for others..

Good teaching. But do you have any short cut to solve this kind of problem?. i think its bit lengthy. But if v practice on this then can solve fast.
