Most of these are , in my opinion , good common sense ? Having said that, there are always the odd crazies here and there ! Shame you cant electrify the hull like Capt, Nemo did in 20,000 leagues under the sea !

I am a [web]-based gongoozler with a penchant for etymology. Gawn is a small ship of lading, goozler per wiktionary is someone that watches. Gongoozler dates before leisure narrowboats.

Isn't living in a narrow boat like living in a motorhome but being restricted to just a few roads in the midlands and being charged thousands for the "privilege"?

This useful channel has made me realise that living on the canal probably isn't for me, this video makes me think I probably wouldn't last more than a few weeks on the cut because dealing with a couple of the examples given here would most likely land me in prison, and to think I wanted to live on the canal to get away from intrusive provocateurs, sounds like the canal path is where ignorant nosey people like to be and it's something you have to accept. I suppose a private marina is another option but less interesting.

Well it is "gongoozlers just to put that right. Just tell em it's really very expensive buying and living on a boat , "I would like to get moored now and again" so it may keep the numbers down. You could paint up a bucket with Roses & Castles on it and the word DONATIONS.
