Ahh. Believers in quality.I love you guys.

A superb installation. Out of curiosity, these two turbo-charged Saab B234 engines? Am I correct in thinking that they were originally in the Saab 9000 car?
-
Interesting installation !. Personally i would not have thought B234's would make good boat engines. As Saab engines do not like long sustained high RPM. Allthough T5 will cut out at 6200rpm, i would not use more than 5000rpm for long sustained high speed runs in a boat. With that configuration, exhausts and intakes, and the TD04's. You should be able to Map each to 280bhp easily and safely on the stock equipment. Giving you 560bhp total. If you need Mapping help, ask the experts on UK Saabs forum.

good thing they're not b235 engines!

Made my life lol

Amazing, great to see two b234

Pretty sweet I always wanted to build a turbo Volvo redblock for a boat.

Hi! This boat has Mercruiser Alpha 1 gen 1 outdrives, currently we have counter-pair with 1,5 gear ratio and 19" Revolution 4 props. Quite a lot of story and pics on Finnish Vator-forum about building this boat.
-
What outdrive did you mate them to? Any buildup on forum?

Hi! And thanks for all your comments. Sadly this summer went how it went. We weren´t able to get a correct Counter-stern so it was a no go. I´m trying to get one from the States this winter, so hopes are high for next summer. Turbos are now upgraded to TD04-15T´s :-) We are starting with approx 450hp with base-software. Cheers!

I'm sad to have not seen anything else of this

why not put a saab engine in everything :)

CO2 terrorists today are more powerful than the atmospheric lovers, but there comes a time when those tinplate carbon dioxide distributors broken up into the millions and no one puollusta peltikotteroita being destroyed, the opposite of genocide performing are regarded as heroes whose deeds held a big party.

dope!
-
whats the redline on them now any way to see how much power they make?

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME .....IT TAKES A LOT to get both of those vehicle based engines to work in the Marine Environment. I wonder if he made one that ran in reverse in this setup? I knew long ago that one could make any car or truck engine work in a boat... With a closed cooling system....theres really not much stopping you. You just need to be a GEARHEAD like this guy here... and myself...We can DO ANYTHING VERY VERY NICE WORK.....I KNOW HOW HARD THIS WAS

Great project, love the sound.

Boat: Vator 22 ft. with two turbocharged SAAB B234 engines. It's my cousin's boat and he has made most of effort on this job. My cousin has followed my standing mile races with my Saabs for years now. Late 2010 he said that he will get rid of his old Mercruisers and put a Saab's engines instead, if I help to tune those for a boat use. So here we are :) These are an early tests and we are looking forward for summer 2013 ;-)
