Nice job. I know there is always a "but" comment from us keyboard commandos, but...... I think you should have used "grade 8" bolts instead of the grade-5 you used. Also, did you consider welding those support prices on or considered using welded angle iron on the frame? Would be a lot stronger. Then again, I'm sure what you did is much stronger now than the original trailer itself.

They paid for the boat and trailer, but he gets to keep the old one. Figured we might as well try to fix it up.

Nice repairs to the boat trailer looks stronger than it was before the tree did it's damage.

Thanks my friend, that's how I was judging it too...once the axle and the frame lined up, I was happy with it. It won't be perfect, but I don't think anybody will look at it that close anyway.
For the past couple of days, I've been working on my Dad's boat trailer. As most of you know, it was crushed by a tree that came down in a recent storm. We thought we'd see if we could salvage it, instead of going out and buying a new one. Anyway, we're not completely finished with it, but I thought I'd show you the progress.
