I have been on rides with lots of people on all types of motorcycles, the Sportster 883 can keep up with similar capacity bikes, if you get to know them, you must remember they don't rev hard so they are long legged in the gearing, A few years ago I was following a chic ridding a 883 she was cruising at 100 mph. I am no expert as I have never owned one, ridden many they are good to look at sound great, they at least to me have a weird ridding position, they seem better for a chic or short guys, I am 6 foot, so I feel I have gone back to my youth ridding Triumphs, BSA, and Commando, these also were fun bikes but you needed a good tool kit to keep them running..

if Suzuki would just pump up the drz to 500cc and change the primary gearing to be a little more highway friendly it would surge in sales .

If you're going to mention the 883 you should at least mention the Indian Scout 60 which is under 9K and has a liquid cooled motor.

Not really.....You pick a "best dual sport" and you put the DRZ? LOL Husky/KTM is a way better choice. LOVE the 883 pick (just cause). LOVE the FZ-07/09 pick!

suggesting a harley, I mean maybe it's okay for the cheaper one, maybe, but they have so many reliability issues...and the image premium tagged on

Ehh, i don't know if i could recommend a brand new bike for a newb unless you don't mind losing that 5-10k. They have a saying for a reason. "its not IF you lay it down, its WHEN"
Thats how i learned to ride dirt bikes and quads. With old beaters that got flipped and smashed while learning limits. -
I hope both of you guys crash and die, being run over by semi, you fags

So you bought a used bike as your first motorcycle and rode it until it would go no more, and now you’re ready to buy a brand-new motorcycle. Which bike should you buy? In this episode of On Two Wheels Ari and Zack exploring five major categories of motorcycling and list the bikes they recommend for each. And, because the idea is that this could be your first brand-new bike, all of these bikes have MSRPs under $10,000.
