Started on a KLR 650. Awesome bike. Bulletproof, but heavy as hell.

Lol I like how you through the Hodge twins in there

I am 6'3" 260 lbs, 25 years old. I am just getting into riding and looking at purchasing a friend's bike that's been sitting in his garage. I agree on your maturity thing and as a firefighter that's been to a few bike wrecks I have a huge amount of respect for these machines. That being said the bike I'm looking at is a TL1000R. Taking it around the block felt great, throttle wasn't snappy and it just cruised well. Is it okay to start on that? It's a v-twin as opposed to a gsxr 1000 or busa so maybe it's a little tamer in a way? Just want a rider's opinion.

KTM 390 Duke. make suspension adjustments and it's like a bigger Grom. Big guy fun all day long.

I have a question and I'm sure several people could give me a solid answer. I weight weight about 330 and 6'1 in height so I just wanna ask what would be a solid bike for me to start out on. I don't wanna look like the bike is riding me lol.

big guy can get super sport 600 since he will look stupid.... but small guys should not get 600 because they don't look stupid on 250.... looking stupid shouldn't be the determination factor on the matter. At least I think it shouldn't...

start on a ar50 itl look cool

It has nothing to do with the CC of the bike or even how much power it has. Its a matter of a WIDE enough SEAT and forward leg controls and a rear shocks that can handle a 270 lb person as you said he was in which could be a 100 cc to a 2000 cc

my brother made me learn on a busa....he told me if I wanted to ride I was gonna learn the right way hahaha I'm 6'0 285lbs

dude, for cruisers a harley street 500 or a yamaha bolt xv950, sports, a cbr500 or ninja 650, nakeds the duke 300 and 690 are both amazing and roomy, the old ducati monster 796 and 696 for that matter are amazing for tall riders and have just enough power to be safe and not get overgrown fast, for dual sports and sumos almost any bike works, the aprilia shiver and dorsoduro are pretty amazing too, but they are on the heavy side, the power is pretty good, really easy to modulate

I'm 6'5 340 and my first bike is a Honda Shadow 1100. You can ride whatever you're comfortable with.

6,1 180 looking into getting a starter bike any suggestions?

You really like to hear yourself talk ...

I am 5'9" tall and weigh 240lbs. would a 250cc or a 500cc be a good first bike?
-
Older bikes like the GS Suzuki series 650-1100 or the KZ Kawasaki series 550-1200 or the Honda nighthawks 650- 750 standard bikes with flat seats and foot pegs under your knees at a 90° angle. Honda v45 v65 cb series, Triumph Bonnie all good bikes for a big dude.

I got 1000 for first time and smashed out on these candy riders. Get a 1000 bruh, dont fuck around.

I'm taking a mSF course at a college in two weeks. I have no prior riding experience. I went to a dealer to check out bikes a couple of weeks ago. I sat on a couple. I had my mind wrapped up in a ninja 300. as soon as the dealer saw me and I sat on one I was too big. I'm 6'5" 260 lbs. I looked ridiculous besides the fact that when I turned the handles they kept hitting my knees so I couldn't turn the bike all the way. then the guy hmmmmed and said you should try a 600cc bike. cause he told me they were bigger. I sat on a zx6r and a gsxr 600. they felt way better and bigger. my only concern I guess is every one is saying to not start on one cause I'm inexperienced and they are to much power. I'm 28 years old and I feel like I'm not gonna go gun ho on it. I'd like to assume I would drive responsible so u have literally no idea what so ever now. seems like riding is hopeless lol. obviously I love the look of super sports. being so big and tall. the lean wasn't bad at all. I didn't feel like I was laying down. when I gripped the bars. can anyone help a soon to be motorcyclist?
