-
OMG, DID I JUST SEE 2NE1 THERE?!!!!
-
wireless makes the bass less strong , thats why i use the wire instead
-

Solo 2 & 3 sound exactly the same (coming from audiophile). It all heavy in bass but good amount of treble & no mids. What makes Solo 3 stand out that W1 chip (same battery as 2s but longer lasting) that amazing. Quick charging is something Apple needs to embed into iPhones (sooner rather than later). Other than that right now on Amazon, the mat black & gloss black cost $220 not a bad price but been like that since November 2016. So I wait on price dropping especially since Apple isn't going to be making any new headphones anytime soon.

It is perhaps tweaked to sound less bassy. I actually think that's a good thing, because it makes the Solo 3 sound a little less congested and more clear. But the difference is so subtle that a) if you didn't like the sound of the Solo 2, you won't like the Solo 3 b) if you own a Solo 2, there's no reason to upgrade based on sound quality alone. The new W1 chip seems to work well. The wireless connection stays stable even if my phone is upstairs and I am downstairs in the opposite corner of a large two story house. This is not something that usually works with my other bluetooth devices. While it did not work in the live stream, a few minutes after the stream the connection had also propagated to my iPad through iCloud. So I didn't have to do any additional pairing with other devices, which was cool. Wouldn't it be nice if passwords worked like that too? I can also switch easily between devices in the music app. It cuts out for a moment, and then plays from the other device. This is something that the Bose QC35 does too though, so it doesn't seem exclusive to the W1 chip. At the end of the day, this is an expensive headphone for $399 AUD. But if you like the sound of the Solo 2, the wireless Solo 3 is the same sensible design and fun sound without the wires. Here's my review of the Solo 2 for reference: https://youtu.be/EhkLOtW96Hs I do feel like the Gloss White may have been the wrong choice though. It picks up fingerprints and doesn't look quite as premium as that nice matte black finish on the Beats EP. If only they made a matte white...
