A thing of note, the sacrificial zincs have nothing to do with static electricity. 2 dissimilar metals in an electrolytic solution is the definition of a battery. That's what you have in every boat short of canoes or kayaks. Basically the goal is to put a sacrificial metal at points on your boat or in the sea chests that have a higher negative electrochemical capacity than the metals that are used to make up the boat and it's engine. Zinc blocks are generally used due to cost and availability even though other materials are superior in the role of cathodic protection. They essentially perform as the anode of the battery that your boat becomes when it is placed in water. Remember from basic chemistry that a battery is basically a controlled form of corrosion where the underlying reaction is oxidation.
All your boat needs to do is be sitting in the wet and it is slowly being eaten away through oxidation, with the highest electrochemically reactive metals being reduced first. -

Give the boat back now amesie -
Check for a PM. I've had over 20 boats of various sizes with my first when I was 16 and now I'm 61 and still have a boat. so I know what I'm talking about in my PM. Besides that, I worked at several marinas too.

Really like your vid's. I just want to say, be careful. Owning a boat that big sucks in the northeast due to the so short season.
You are in an awkward position, you don't own it, just did the $1800 dollar prep + pay the dock fees, this is not bad (boat wise) to captain a boat for 2 1/2 months. Tread cautiously in this relationship (you are WAY ahead in this at this time)! -
I'm surprised that boat is not fuel injected considering it's not that old.
-
BOAT.= .bust. out. another. thousand. love boats but they are bloody expensive to keep
