Just happened to come across this and noticed this taken at a Canadian Bass Anglers Federation (CBAF) event. There were some nice bags weighed in at the event which included a 6.73lb smallmouth (Big Fish). Thanks for sharing!

And those Mercurys are too loud. They need a Evinrude or Yamaha. They are very quiet

Me and my dad (im 13) fish tournaments like these on Lake Livingston and alot of lakes in Texas. And yeah your right. We have a Stratos 201 with a 225hp Evinrude Vindicator. We can get 80mph EASY. But we usally just go 60. The faster it goes, more fishing you get done

and they are beautiful

the size of the motor is essential in a bass tournament, you simply cannot cover the amount of water on Lake Simcoe with a 9.9hp weekend warrior set up. Also it is a bass fishing tournament, not a boat touring day. Higher the speed, the less time driving and more time fishing. These boats average a speed of 65+ mph.
