How about, in substitution for laughing and filming, you go down on the dock--I know, some docks you can't get in, some you can--but go down there, 2 people or so on every dock in the area of that boat--call out to him and help him guide his boat in. Yeah, for sure, he is not competent (my guess is the oldest problem: I have MONEY to buy boat, but have not learned to drive boat), but helping out rather than giggling about it and filming it, is a better way to go.

The guy was obviously new and inexperienced with twin screws. All he needed was a couple of boaters on the dock to manhandle him in once he got close. He could then have kept both transmissions in neutral. At my marina, a half dozen guys would have been out there the first time he bumped it over 2000 RPM. Asshat with the camera & his friends might even have been able to do it.

This is the problem as I see it-ANYBODY can buy a boat, even if they've never set foot on one. You need training to drive a car, or fly a plane, but just credit to buy a boat. And Youtube is full of people crashing their boats. Sad and wrong...

Sorry i only got half of this video and also sorry my finger got in the way near the end. After this guy had nailed several boats i decided that this was going to be as good as a UFO video so i cranked up the iphone. a few bystanders said his slip is on the left just this side of the smaller Sea Ray (about 5 slips out on the left side). when we got there, he was out of the slip and all the way back near us and the boats on the left. So.... if he was drunk, he's toast since the harbor patrol hooked up to him right after the last crash. if he isn't drunk, i'd recommend non-motorized vehicles rather twin inboards in a 35ish foot boat fly bridge. His chick never screamed at him that we could hear.
