This tube re-cutting machine is programmable via a friendly touch screen interface to the front of the machine. To begin, the operator enters the cut length and the wall thickness. If this is the first core to be cut, the knife cutting position against the inner cutting anvil is quickly set once with the press of a button, requesting the machine to automatically ‘teach’ the cut position. The machine will automatically load cores from a hopper into the a loading ‘V’ in front of the machine, then it will automatically push the core into the chuck and start the loading sequence. The machine closes the chuck jaws to grip the core, then moving the chuck carriage into the machine to draw the parent core inwards, over the cutting anvil. The length of the core is carefully calculated as it is loaded. With the required number of cuts and the cut length already programmed into the HMI, the machine will now complete the cutting instructions automatically. If the required number of cuts requires a length greater than that of the parent core, the machine will wait for the next core to be loaded, following the ‘stop and eject’ sequence which automatically strips the waste ring from the chuck, waiting for the next core to be loaded. All cut pieces are sent to the front of the machine for collection, if they are short, or loaded back onto the simple loading vee if they are long The long core is held firmly by the rotating chuck and moving carriage at one end. The cutting dolly and roller guides to the exit of the machine guide the motion of the core at its opposite end using maximum points of contact to ensure a vibration free cutting zone with no movement of the end of the core.  The machine may store multiple programmes which may then be pre-selected and executed. Each programme has the potential to store 10 different cut lengths and number of cuts to execute as a sequence. The cutting may be paused at any time to make changes to the running programme or to switch to another programme.  Opposed knife units are used for rapid cutting and the cutting action is via a servo controlled ball screw. This allows the optimum knife speed and movement to be set for a particular core.  Automatic servo controlled bottom & top supports.  The knives may be fixed so the cut end gets a polished finish, or free to rotate.  The cutting anvil or dolly remains fixed, or may be free to rotate.  Tooling for each size comprises of only a clamping dolly for the chuck and a cutting anvil or cutting dolly.  An automatic stripper system is set to remove the waste ring.  A touch screen control panel is mounted near the operating area for ease of use.  The knives have micro adjustment and soft stop to the cutting dolly.  Supplied complete with fully adjustable pneumatically operated, three jaw chuck with direct air for opening & closing.  Complete with 1 set of tooling.
