Headlines: Sunseeker Turkey delivers its first 116ft yacht, Astondoa celebrates 100 years, Amels to deliver its largest superyacht to date and the fascinating concepts that architects come up with for yachting. It’s August 2nd and this is Morgane with your daily marine news Sunseeker Turkey are pleased to announce the delivery of their first yacht in the Sunseeker 116 series: SESAME. Since the private yacht was ordered over 18 months ago, motor yacht SESAME has undergone extensive interior customization, including the fitting of a bespoke handmade dining table. Read more on BSA. SYT formed part of 350 guests, family, friends and international press members to celebrate this joyous occasion with the Astondoa family in the company’s home town of Santa Pola. An impressive figure of 3,000 yachts have been delivered by the yacht builder to date, employing a 150 man strong workforce that creates each vessel that leaves the facility. In June, Holland-based Amels shipyard presented its largest superyacht to date, the 272-foot Here Comes the Sun superyacht. Launched from the Amels shipyard in Vlissingen (about two hours from Amsterdam), the ship is slated to be delivered by the end of the year. For whatever reason, architects like to design yachts. It doesn’t matter if they know anything about how boats work or what actually makes a vessel seaworthy. They especially like to design superyachts—and they like them flashy.
