been there before had a chunk stuck in my right thigh. omg that hurt!!
-
wheres your face shield?? when ever i use a grinder i always wear my fibre-metal welding flip helmet even tho im wearing safety glasses too
-
Firstly you must use the safety cover! The second thing, you must swap your hands and must stand the grinder's right side! Then the disk would not be in line with your head and your legs.
-
This man must be lucky. Holding the grinder the right way in the hands. Always be behind the safety house! He is standing on the wrong site! Both project and machine. I engineer and hate grinder. In al forms they very deadly! And live chancing!
-
come on dude, i could HEAR the motor bogging down.
-
apart from the huge need of a safety cover, he pushed that grinder so much, excess of pressure on the same point, on the same place for some time can increase the temperature of the disc so much and stress it a lot, thats why it exploded
-
Do not push!
-
Is he dead?

an older guy at my work got hit in the glasses with a broken cutting wheel. The wheel itself didn't hurt him but instead shattered the glasses and sent pieces into his eye. The guy is now blind on that eye.
-
Idiot he put too much pressure on the grinder, you can tell by the amount of sparks
-
what were you trying to do?
-
In all my years using grinders and abrasive tools, I have never seen anything that dumb. Did almost lose my thumb to the mechanical cooling fan on a 400chevy once though.. haha

This is what happens when you listen to your wife.

Whenever I grind with my grinder, I always where, my Lincoln electric One Size Fits All Red and Black Premium Leather Welding Gloves (from home depot). Not just for spark protection, but also protection from the disc incase it comes off, weld spatter from my work surface, and of course stick welding. I will use my auto darkening welding helmet and hard hat, or just my safety glasses and my hard hat. I tend to value my life and safety, so yeah, I do kinda go all out with some of my welding gear just to grind something no matter how small.
-
another good tip, is to open your garage door and turn the other way to let the sparks fly out of the garage.......of course make sure nothing or nobody is near. lol.
-
never force the angle grinder.........just let it cut on its own.....your using way to much pressure......always use metal clamps, or a big vice to clamp your work down......when that grinder wheel breaks........the pieces are gonna fly and the outcome can be serious injury or fatal.
-
It's fun cause "tmort" in french could be said like "t'es mort" and means "you're dead"
-
I had a wire wheel grab my crotch when I lowered the grinder while not paying attention. Luckily, I was wearing loose fitting coveralls which bunched up pretty fuckign tight, and stalled out the grinder. Having a peek at my package was scary as shit...but luckily no damage...just a bit of pain. Shit happens fast, always expect the worst.

first off.... DONT LISION TO YOUR WIFE...
Using the wrong tool for the wrong job! I needed a socket driver for my drill. My wife suggested that I grind off the end of a socket extension that would fit in the chuck of my drill. No vice, all around bad idea. All I had were plastic wood clamps on a round piece of metal clamped to a table saw. Bring on the 7" Dewalt grinder. Almost took off my thumb... Please share this video. If I make any money from this - I will be using that money to buy a proper vice and safety equipment :) The comments of this video has turned into the definitive guide of "what not to do with an angle grinder" - check them out :) The Dewalt 7" D28474W angle grinder is a high power 4HP motor running at up to 8000 RPM. The tool has a keyless adjustable guard which increases productivity. Its lightweight design increases productivity in extended use applications. For licensing please contact licensing@jukinmedia.com
