AMAZING THE ASSININITY OF SOME PEOPLE ! DO I REALLY WANT TO LOSE MY BOAT OR MY LIFE ?
-
Those bitching about them owning a 50ft cat all sound like a bunch of jealous school girls! Grow the fuck up as you also buy what you can afford.
-
Wouldn't the best thing to do with a ship that's leaking oil be to evacuate everyone and then napalm it? That way the oil would be largely combusted.
-
99% bliss...1% shear, unadulterated terror.
-
For future reference, coxswain is pronounced Cox-san, rather than cox-wayne.
-
"one of 26 tanker spills that year". 15 Million gallons of crude onto foreign beaches just on that one ship. No big deal... we all burn gas in our cars right?
-
a tug boat without proper equipment , not even a chain or strong cable.....what could they save???
-
why didn t they tow the boat ???
-
Round the 'globe' ? i think NOT ! It's high time people realised we do NOT live on a globe ! The earth is FIXED and UNMOVABLE - so said the Almighty Creator, so if you want call Him a liar - then good luck - you'll need it !
-
Typical sensational BS... Para anchor and enjoy the ride...
-
Coxswain or Cox'n, pronounced "coxun."
-
Oh no, poor catamaran abandoned.
-
I no understand, the catamaran have mast and sail, ...why no navygation???
-
I don't understand, there was no immediate risk for the folks on the Cat. I've sailed worse and survived fine. Just avoid the giant waves roll over you from stern. Robin and Bill should have kept the engine running and steer down wind as fast as possible or keep a tiny sail and allow the wind to pull you down wind.

I once claimed an abandoned boat in Bass Straight ,Australia and towed it to Port and guess what , I was told to hand it over to the owners or get charged with theft ,its not "law of the sea" to claim and own so dont go prasing up the people who found it and returned it ,mos likely the yhad the same eresult as me.

31:40 How was the tow gear cable attached ?
-

fantastic job by the navy to "rescue" that couple off the catamaran but what was the problem ,the cat was handling the swell no problem ,were they just scared?
-
Yup they did not have to leave that boat, an expensive and unnecessary rescue. As far as the return of the boat we do not know if a reward was demanded so they may not have got it back free. I have had a boat slip moorings and they sort of look after themselves most of the time (or sink). As much as I love boats and the sea, sailing like any expensive pastime is full of privileged assholes.
Witness an ocean liner ripped in half by killer waves and sail aboard a yacht tossed about on the open seas in fifty foot rollers as Anatomy of Disaster explores the origins and cycles of nature's most destructive force - the power of the ocean that drives intense storms an immense waves. Enormous energy, caused by storm winds, reverberates out across the surface of the ocean in what we experience as waves. And woe to ships or coastal residents in their paths! From an Australian sailing couple's struggle to survive a tropical storm, to an attempt to save crewmen off a cargo ship before it crashes into North Sea cliffs, Anatomy of Disaster takes us to the world's worst storms and the mariners who face them. We'll examine cyclonic storm surges, gigantic ocean rollers, and killer rogue waves. To better understand these incredible forces of nature, we'll stand onboard an oil tanker as it breaks up and then barely escape as it plunges into the depths, cling to a catamaran in a South Pacific Typhoon, and watch a ship off Mozambique sink after being hit by a rogue wave.
