A few brief glimpses from the opening ceremony of the newly built pelagic fishing vessel "S 264 Astrid" recently delivered from Karstensens Shipyard situated in Skagen, Denmark which will also be her homeport. Built as Yard no. 425 she is the third and final delivery in a series of three vessels sharing similar design, her sister vessels being the "Rogne" and the "Herøyhav". The "Astrid" is rigged and outfitted as a "combination" vessel capable of both purse seining and midwater trawling, focus being on the latter as opposed to her Norwegian sisters which is primarily operating as purse seiners. She was delivered and christened the 19th of July on Danish soil at the builders facilities in Skagen. The footage seen here is from the public opening ceremony which took place in Sweden on the following day, the 20th of July. The weather was amazing and nearly a thousand people attended the ceremony which was deemed a great success. The footage was captured with the Blackmagic 4k which is not exactly the most ergonomic piece of equipment ever constructed and due to the vast amount of visitors circulating the vessel using any type of tripod/monopod was completely out of the question. So sorry for all the handheld shakiness! And also for the lens-smudges and exposure being quite off! Be sure to select "1080p HD" playback for maximum quality!
