Epilogue - Sometime in the evening of February 10, 2014 Burden of Dreams sank. It's hard to say why but my guess is the mufflers froze. One of the main reasons the city gave for towing this vessel is it wasn't safely tied off. The Boat was tied to tree trunks instead of cleats. On the first night in their possession the line used to secure Burden of Dreams to the seawall tore and the boat drifted north to the shallow end of the channel where it got stuck on rocks, light poles or cables that littered the bottom. There it lingered and waited for a rain hard enough to raise the rivers water level so the bottom could clear the debris and break loose. A year later it happened. The jubilation was cut short when hearing a thunderous noise coming from the starboard shaft when put into gear, meaning something was bent. The damage happened either during the tow or when stuck. I was able to drive the boat 300 yards to deeper water which would become it's last voyage. Soon afterward the channel froze and Burden of Dreams was iced in. I want to thank everyone who watched this documentary and to those who responded with kind words and stories of their own.
