Suzuki's 300HP motors are still going well, and electronic shifts are great too, Looks a great rig, and would fly with a 300 HP Suzuki, Cheers Greg
Great Sea boat, It's an older australian built boat the Cougar Cat, but unfortunately this model isn't built anymore. Big and heavy and one comfortable riding boat in rough conditions. We have very choppy seas off mackay with wind against strong tide. Goes well with the 300 HP Suzuki's only a few more knots top speed, but easy cruising speed of 25 knots now, Cheers Greg
Cats are good for sure, Great sea boats and don't slam like a mono hull, and I've had mine in some shocking conditions, and will still cruise comfortably at 20 knots. We've got quite a few good cat manufacturers down under. Cheers Greg
Cat's sooooo superior in every way. Funny, the Americans are so slow to realize this. We have to fish on sluggish, crap riding, wet mono's unless the sea is glassy smooth. I am told by boat builders here they don't like the stubby look of cats...that's weird! as it's a work fishing platform not a ramp supermodel.

Love my ute, just the V6, 190 KWatts, although the newer ones now have 210KW and go well, We have the Chev V8 in them and 270 KW, although mild by your standards. They were going to export them to the US, but that may have been canned after the Global Financial Crisis? I think they were Pontiacs? Great Ute and the new ones are even better, Cheers Greg

@Reefari nice Greg. Is that your voice I'm always hearing behind the video's? Hey did you consider the new lightweight Yammy 300's as an alternative to the Zukes. Keep the video's coming - I live off those and similar at the moment as I'm waiting for my next boat to be built. It's agony. If I get desperate enough i may have to come up your way for a charter.

Got an extra couple of knots out of her cruise and top speed, up to 34 knots, but still tweaking the props, to get the rev's right. Will try another prop this week and, will shoot another video. Fuel consumption is up there, but still the same I believe at this stage, but more grunt, Really lauches up onto the plane now, and holds the plane better in rough sea conditions, Cheers Greg
Great video - Gee those 300's sounded nice. How'd they perform in the sea trial? What sort of performance improvements did you get over the 250's. How much range will you loose with the extra fuel consumption (if any)?

http://www.reefari.com 300 HP suzuki's was the latest upgrade for Raptor II, our 10m Cougar Cat. The old 250 HP Suzuki's had clocked up over 1600 hours and was time to replace. The extra grunt is great and has picked up cruise speeds to a comfortable 25 knots, and top speed now pushing 35 knots. These modern outboard motors are great and with the economy of a four stroke. Fuel economy should be about the same with more power in the rough and when fully loaded. Suzuki's also come with a 5 year warranty for recreational users, so well worth considering. Roy and Luke from Reef Marine did a great job and handled the installation of the motors, Thanks. The other joy of slipping your boat is anti foul, a must have if in the water, I recommend Micron 66, expensive stuff but lasts twice as longer as your other antifoul paints. We also use Trilux on the Pods and outboard motor legs for Aluminium. Make sure you use Approved antifoul or else will corrode away in no time.
