Love your vids. Pro tip: Always orient the fins on the impeller in the correct orientation rather than relying on it to do so automatically. In fact, it's not uncommon for one or more fins to be going in the opposite direction from the rest, which can impair its function quite dramatically. It's also best to put a thin film of vaseline on the walls of the impeller housing rather than on the impeller itself.

Just a correction....Vaseline is made of mineral oil, and should never be used on impellers ...period. The right stuff is dishwasher soap or glycerine, (The thick floating type if soap ) and not the kind used in machines right.....just wanna be sure. >big smile< the soap will give amble protection of the impeller, until the water gets there, and be resolved in the water quite fast when the engine it running. Nice video though.....

Looks like you have a gouge on a coolant pipe. It will burst someday! Mine did. FYI it will blow at the worst time and flood the engine compartment then take the starter with it. (Starter will rust)

Every horn bag is ogling Julia (and they aren't wrong, she's beautiful) but nobody mentions 4:49 to give some love to Shuan. Shuan, I'm not gay, but I appreciate the effort you put in for the folks who appreciate the male form.
P.S.- those are impeller vanes and pump shaft.
P.P.S.- that looks like a large diameter fill hose for either water or fuel so it's probably not critical that it's been chafed by the crank pulley. More importantly, the fact that hoses and wires are that close means there is potential for more serious problems, especially if you are doing long distance cruising. Shorting out a starter cable or destroying an accessory belt could be a show stopper. -

Hey Shawn & Julia, nice to see you guys again! Not that your list needs to be longer but I see that there is a nasty wear mark on that hose were it got against the belt pulley. You can see that the cut is past the cord so that is a candidate for a spare hose at the very least. Also, it might be a good idea to determine whether the hose is moving or is the engine mount loose enough for the pulley to move that far.

for about 2 dollars you can buy a magnet on a telescopic pole thing ... makes holding and retrieving pars easy.... i have a couple of them in easy to find places for when i drop things or when i need to hold a part like that tiny bolt
