If you want to know what it will sound like, just unbolt the rear portion of your exhaust that has the muffler and take the car for a spin.

sounds good for stock. check out my vids of my 05 PT GT S1 for exhaust cutout videos and shooting flames lol enjoy

turbo cars only benefit from the lack of exhaust backpressure after the turbo. naturally aspirated engines are the ones that can lose low end torque below the peak torque rpm, after the peak torque rpm, they gain in the upper end. good for race cars or cars that spend a lot of time in the upper rpm ranges but can margibally hurt fuel economy and driveability if you go too big on pipe diameter and flow. as i said earlier, turbo cars only benefit, and see no loss in power from open exhaust. the turbo itself exhibits an extreme amount of backpressure on the engine because it is spinning a compressor that is forcing air into the engine, so the computer will barely be able to tell the difference. turbo engines are also quieter than naturally aspirated engines because the turbo itself muffles the exhaust note. it will still be loud, just not stupid loud. you can probably drive around with a cut-out open and not attract too much attention when you are just cruising in town.

Well its going to depend on your command module.. by running a straight pipe it may actually hurt performance so check into it before you buy just to be sure. But yea straight pipes when the turbo kicks in would be awesome!
-
that would be pretty cool. then when you see a cop up ahead you can just flick the switch and wala lol
-
great idea...straight pipe when you want (need) it!!! looks like an easy install...call Dean

So what do you think? Should I go for an electric exhaust cutout? --------------------- Today, I do this quick little video of some stock exhaust clips in my 2004 PT Cruiser GT turbo, and I took full advantage of my GoPro in the process! Also I propose the idea of putting an electric exhaust cutout on the pt gt. What do you think?
