that's not a hack loser they sell markers for your stupid cricut so you can print instead of cut!!! you took your thing apart because you can't afford a dollar? Hahahahaha
-
this is not hacking dummy. hack means breaking to some sources for editing or taking the secured information ,,
you just opened the system to insert the marker ... i am glad that you did not called this an invention !!!
probably you did told your friends, that you invented something ...oh god why this people are paranoid !!! -
step by step how to install program information please madarme
-
How to hack it pls
-
Can I ask what cartridge is used ... Is there more to how
-
Good work guy, this would be awesome for making circuit boards.
-
if your steppers are compatable with the ramps board you may want to look at simple replacing the electronics with those from a RepRap ramps board

so I have that same machine, and it wont even power on. Any ideas what part could be bad? im thinking the relay on the power button? if I can get it fixed I will show a vid cuz this seems to be a common problem. Thanks

I am cracking up!!!
-
So Cool So Great!!!!!!!!!
-
and the point of this, is?
-
I Like this ideal ty

@Jossiah1979 rofl @ you've just ****ed it lol <3
-
that is sooo cool
-
I think I'd have to kill my hubby if he took my Cricut apart!
-
@Jossiah1979 Uh oh, you better close your eyes through most of your life! Even if he did ruin this machine this would not even in the top MILLION of wasteful things people have done. It's people like him that make products BETTER at the sacrifice of a bit of time, obviously it still works if you can see it moving or hear it working. And obviously it was for a reason if you watch the video....

@jamesj629 : there's software available (Sure Cuts A Lot is one, about $60) that will enable you to: 1. use any font installed on your computer -- no more overpriced cartidges!! 2. import .svg graphics 3. convert .jpg, .bmp etc to vector graphics for cutting. This. will let you make masks out of vinyl for printed circuit board prototyping, but I doubt you'll be able to get less than about 20mil traces. Doubt you can do SMT pads. I just cut some vinyl from Eagle designs but haven't yet etched.

Excellent idea! I've been wanting a decent method to print circuit board designs. I think you might end up with some troubles though: (1) Both images for double sided boards will need to be aligned very accurately, and (2) the cricut must move the board forward/back -- might be problematic? You may not need to hack the IC board though. Write a program to output a custom font (a single letter) which is the positive circuit design, and send that to the cricut instead. Just an idea :p

This isn't a hack this is a disassembled machine to use with a marker. Big whoop.

so now you have a 250 dollar printer with one marker great
5m 24sLength
Modified Cricut Paper Cutting Tool. Removal of the Keypad requires taking off the sides of the Cricut. This allows for replacement of the cutting bit with other things like crayons, markers, dremmel tools...
