Her beam of 14’11” is wider than most trawlers in the 40’ range and allows for great living spaces. In the a 5'3" x 14'6" new fishing cockpit was added to her stern thus giving her a nearly 45' LOA. Going forward there is the sea going galley, a private head and the VIP stateroom. Proceeding aft from the salon one finds the master suite with its island queen berth. Another of the features of Calypso that sets her apart from other Taiwanese trawlers is her incredible head room throughout the yacht, Now with the addition of a true fishing cockpit complete with rod holders, 40 gallon live well, 200 liter fish cooler, and a spare 35 gallon auxiliary fuel tank with its own dedicated pump that is perfect for all of your toys, one can go and play for extended periods of time. . Calypso is a semi-custom example of the fine craftsmanship of world renowned Trans World Yachts in Taiwan. Trans World shipyard currently builds Alaskan Yachts a traditional Raised Pilothouse yacht designed by Arthur DeFever. Between 1987 and 1994 all Hyatt yachts were custom ordered thru Trans World. After 1994, they did become a production yacht and were sold until 2004 in sizes from 40-63’ as the 40’ Sundeck was such a successful model for both Hyatt and for Trans World Yachts. Calypso, like her sister ships, is built to ABYC specs and unlike many of other Taiwanese imports. The Hyatt’s were only built in one yard. Calypso recently had a very comprehensive Survey both in water and out. The survey was performed by Capt Mike Hagan AMS#933 of CYA Marine services. The survey included all lube oil samples. The survey report came back indicating she is in great shape and has been exceptionally well maintained thru her life. It also shows the vessel to be in compliance with the ABYC standards throughout. It also shows no major deficiencies and boat is dry and no blister problems. Her fair market value was in the 130s and replacement value was over 408k. As a result of her high survey marks, a representative at Newcoast Financial Services in Clearwater Florida has indicated that they would be able to provide financing for this yacht. She has just recently finished a very complete refit by her very knowledgeable owner who is retired from the Coast Guard and the Navy. Calypso with her 1994-97 Cummins engines with 1400 hrs and complete refit as per attached listing is ready to cruise anywhere, the Islands, the Loop or where ever your heart tells you to go. She will do it in comfort and economically. At 8 knots she is burning 4 gallons per hour. Easy to see in Alva, Florida located just 17 miles East of Fort Myers, Fl. Bring the bathing suit and you are off on an adventure of a lifetime. She is now back in hurricane safe fresh water.
