There's no doubt that 1966 is one of the most popular Ford Mustang model years in the history of the car. In fact, March 1966 marked the creation of the millionth Mustang. Although the first few years were definitely good for Ford and its sporty Mustang, 1966 was the year all that hard work truly began to pay off. By 1966, most people began to associate the Ford Mustang with power and performance. It was the car to have if you needed a daily driver and it was the car to have if you needed a weekend cruiser with a sporty edge. In all, there were minimal changes to the Mustang in 1966. Production began in August of 1965 and featured a lineup of: Coupe, Convertible, and Fastback. In all, Ford produced 607,568 total Mustangs in 1966. The car sported additional new colors, a redesigned grille, new instrument cluster, and new styled wheels. An automatic transmission became available for the "Hi-Po" V-8. Side scoops featured chrome trim with three wind-splits, and GT models received a new gas cap and driving lamps as standard equipment. MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to offer yet another handsome 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. This particular Mustang benefited from an older, mild cosmetic restoration and it definitely shows! Before coming to us, this Mustang has stayed within the same family for the past 32 years where it was loved dearly! This Mustang was purchased by the family in 1982, locally, after it was originally purchased in Florida in the 1970s. The son drove it on a dialy basis his junior year of high school. He found another car he was interested in, so they sold it to a cousin of the family in November 1983. She kept the car for 29 years, putting a total of only 6,000 miles on it. In March 2012, the cousin called back and asked if the family was interested in buying the car back. They bought the car back and replaced a number of items that affected its running and braking. Its general appearance was excellent. It has had only two paint jobs in its life but remains about 75% original. It was used until a summer driver until we purchased it and brought it to MotoeXotica. This handsome sports car has the body and styling of the All American muscle car as well as the V8 power of the iconic pony platform! The Mustang has been finished in Arcadian Blue (Code F) and compliments the white canvas convertible top (Code C) and matching blue vinyl interior (Code 22). The car has been repainted in the past and looks great! Please take a look at the photo showing the original floor pans without the carpeting. It is VERY impressive and solid! The paint is in great condition, showing very, very minor imperfections such as rock chips since the car was a driver. The front and rear bumpers retain a good shine and luster and show no notable damage to either. The manual white canvas convertible top is in excellent condition, showing no signs of wear or staining. Inside, the interior is very fresh and clean. Blue vinyl wraps the front bucket seats and the backseat and looks great with no major signs of wear or tear. The interior is in great shape! The carpet is brand new, the door panels and headliner are all in good condition as well. The dash sports a cassette radio and original gauges. Under the hood, you will see a very neat and clean 289 cubic inch V8 with a 2 barrel carburetor. Mated to the V8 is an automatic transmission. It should be mentioned that this Mustang still possesses its original and rarely seen "Buck Tag" that is riveted to the driver's side frame rail under the hood. It also comes equipped with power steering. The car has just had a number of expensive upgrades; within the last year front disc brakes were installed to make this Pony stop on a dime. Additionally, a brand new under-dash air conditioning unit was installed to keep you cool on those hot, humid days of summer! The car sits upon a set of 14" steel wheels with Mustang center caps that are wrapped in P195/75R14 tires that look great. The VIN number is 6T08C210400 and the mileage currently shows 94,592. It is being sold on a clean and clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE! http://www.facebook.com/stlclassiccars http://www.instagram.com/motoexotica http://www.twitter.com/motoexotica636
