q) a boatman travels for 3 hrs DS then 2hrs US and covers atotal of 42kms. find the speed of boat if speed of stream is 2kmph?
sol: US : DS : Sum (total dist covered)
time- 2 : 3 | (2+3)
Dist- 2 : 3 : 5 parts = 42
thus, 2 parts = 2*(42/5)
D = Sxt
2x42/5 = (B-R) x 2
putting R = 2kmph -
B = 52/5 kmph
But correct ans is 40kmph. -
