We were sailing on a blustery day when this awesome racing boat overtook us tacking upwind toward the Golden Gate. A few minutes later, they had reached the Gate and turned downwind, popping their baby blue spinnaker. We changed course to get as close to them as possible, but they crossed in front of us so fast we didn't even get close! Nevertheless, Mac caught some footage of them passing by the San Francisco waterfront, starting with Pacific Heights in the background up to Ghirardelli Square, catching even the Pyramid Building in the shot. My crew (Ifor Ffowcs-Williams, Dan Spitzer & Mac Hansen) had all wanted to fly a spinnaker on our little 27-foot boat, but in retrospect actually had all the sail we could handle.
