These boats are surrounded in mystery and really creep people out. Like ghost boats washed up without their crew & no explanation!! Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 6. Tsunami Ghost Ship A boat in horrible condition washed up on the shore of Oregon in March 2016 which was believed to be debris from the Japanese Tsunami from 2011. Is it possible this could contain radioactive debris on board, from the devastating storm. It’s estimated to be about 25 feet to 30 feet long and the Coast Guard conducted an invasive species inspection. It’s incredible to imagine that boats are still washing up to shore 5 years later. The boat was dismantled and taken to landfill. 5. Liberian Oil Tanker The Tamaya 1 oil tanker was found abandoned off the coast of Robertsport, Liberia in May 2016 with lifeboats still on board. This isn’t your ordinary abandoned ship either. This is a 60 meter long Panamanian registered Nigerian flagged vessel capable of carrying tons of oil. So what could've caused people to flee in hurry. It turns out the ship had caught on fire possibly from the oil on board but an exact reason wasn’t determined. The ship was also out at sea for a week where its location was not recorded. As you see in this photo, the last known location was near the coast of the Gambia but no one seems to know what happened afterwards. 4. The Japanese Ghost Fleet A total of 11 boats washed up on the Japanese coastline with not your traditional crew. 20 badly decomposed bodies that were described as skeleton like were found onboard drifting boats. 4 had originally washed up in November 2015 and within a few weeks later, 7 more had washed up. It’s been declared as impossible to identify the bodies and authorities are completely puzzled. Some people believe they were fishing boats of North Korea since the nation has been trying to increase its fish supply lately. A tiny piece of what appears to be a North Korean flag still remains as you see in this photo. Did North Korea lack the proper technology to conduct large scale fishing operations in the Sea of Japan? We won’t know because dead men tell no tales. 3.Rusting National Defense Ghostyard So what does the United States do with its fleets after the Vietnam War? Well for now they’re just letting them sit in the ocean, in case they need them at some time in the future. These ghost ships in this photo are located on the Suisun Bay in California but the National Defense Reserve fleet also has locations in Texas and Virginia. Also referred to as the Mothball fleet, these ships are beginning to completely fall apart and pollute the waters from hazardous chemicals and heavy paints. It’s hard to imagine them actually putting these to use during a time of war. This is clearly not something anyone would willingly abandon. 2. The Serenity Ghost Yacht A $38 million dollar Yacht was found floating in muddy portion of a river in Brisbane, Australia in 2015. This doesn’t really seem like the right place for the 55 meter long Serenity. This ship belonged to a wealthy Russian propaganda journalist named Mikhail Lesin who worked hand and hand with Vladimir Putin. He was found dead at the age of 57 by a heart attack but many seem to think the circumstances around his death were suspicious. He also worked as his press secretary and some believed he was killed due to orders from the Kremlin. This luxurious yacht included eleven different types of marble as well Iranian gold onyx. The yacht was made by Dutch Heesen shipyards which is known for their quality ships 1.Mary Celeste Possibly one of the most well known ghost ships and possibly the most mysterious is the Mary Celeste. It was spotted 400 miles off the coast of the Azores when a British ship. A boarding party was sent to investigate the bizarre vessel. The Mary Celeste still carried its 1701 barrels of industrial alcohol cargo from when it left New York City in 1872.There was also 6 months worth of supplies of food and water but not a single person on board to consume it. The crew found no evidence of foul play but the only lifeboat was missing. So what caused the 10 man crew to completely bail on their ship. The full cargo left inside ruled out the theory of pirates. Others claim sea monsters could have had something to do with it but this is a fairly easy theory to dismiss. The most plausible claim seems to be that the captain had a bad feeling the ship would sink due to rough weather and he could make it easier and feared the ship would explode. It’s possible he decided the lifeboat would be the easiest way to make it to shore.
